Bishop is a picturesque town with fresh air, clean water, and locals teeming with personality. Born and raised in the ever evolving town, it's quaint and honestly feels like your stepping back in time. That could be good or bad depending on you need. Would love to see more local businesses thrive and develop more job opportunities for locals.

The best thing about Bishop is its location in the beautiful Owens Valley, which looks the way it does because of the multiple agency land ownership that keeps it from being developed. There are two groups of people: the people who were born here and the people who moved here, "the outsiders." There are 600 or so properties that can be sold in this area. Social standing and money determine who gets to live here. There are few local contractors. There is no enforcement or protection for those who are subjected to poor contractual work and no enforcement. High rate of failed marriages, alcoholism, drug use, interpersonal hate and violence. However, it is the beauty of the mountains that makes this place what it is. You go to the mountains to find your solace. It is the most beautiful place in the world, in my book. The local people want your money and then they want you to leave.
