Damaged (2024) | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Catherine Bray Guardian Damaged isn’t trying to be a meme, it’s playing things completely straight... That sincerity, and the apparent genuine commitment of top-tier performers like Jackson, is what makes this ripely absurd film at least half-worth watching. Rated: 3/5 Sep 5, 2024 Full Review Damaged (2024) | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Unfortunately, [the ending isn't] nearly enough compensation for the roughly 90 minutes of tedium preceding it. Apr 11, 2024 Full Review Damaged (2024) | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Dennis Harvey Variety “Damaged” is too efficiently handled to be dull, or even overtly bad — though viewers may find themselves rolling their eyes a bit after a while. Apr 11, 2024 Full Review Damaged (2024) | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Calum Baker Radio Times The murder scenes themselves are studiously grisly, though the film's overall visual style never rises above that of a TV drama. Rated: 2/5 Sep 13, 2024 Full Review Damaged (2024) | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Alistair Harkness Scotsman A stacked cast can’t stop Edinburgh-set serial killer thriller "Damaged" from looking like a pound shop "Seven". Steven S This movie is so horrible in every conceivable way, the awfulness must be intentional. The plan from the start was to make a very bad movie so it could serve as a tax write off the studio, right? Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/04/24 Full Review Itis W If do something better to do...do it and don't watch this film you will be wasting your time. This has got be the worst film I have seen yet. Samuel L Jackson must have done this for laugh and the opportunity to play golf at many great and famous golf courses in Scotland. The film is poorly written and jumps from one scene to a totally other scene, poor acting...the list goes on. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/28/24 Full Review John R Dear Lord what have I watched?! I mean Samuel L Jackson and Vincent Cassels, not to mention John Hannah mean it should be ok? This has to be the worst load of cliched tripe I’ve watched in some time. Laughably bad film which had me mostly wondering how much SLJ/VC got paid (surely a lot??) and then marvelling at the use of Bathgate and Livingston as supposedly Edinburgh and the Argyle&Bute ferry as the Port of Dublin. As for the route the killer makes to get to the Port….well let’s say it reminded me of Kevin Costner as Robin Hood, landing at Dover, saying he”ll dine tonight with his father in Nottingham and then proceeding to get there via Hadrian’s Wall and the tree that some total oik chopped down with a chainsaw.!! I’d never heard of Gianni Capaldi before this film. Now I do know him I shall be avoiding anything he’s in. Don’t waste 90 mins of your life on this film - it’s time you’ll never get back. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/24/24 Full Review Andy B Absolutely truly AWFUL. This has to be the worst film I’ve watched in as long as I can remember. Terrible ridiculous plot. Terrible acting. Comical portrayal of police murder investigation with the audience supposed to believe the laughable attempt to be a serious film. Samuel L Jackson should be ashamed of being involved. Do not waste your time with this film! Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/22/24 Full Review John B Abysmal, every cliche in the book. Awful script, leaden direction, utterly unbelievable plot and unconvincing acting. Spectacularly bad in every single element. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/20/24 Full Review Audience Member I've seen worse but not many. The story line is not awful but the writing and direction are. The dialogue is just one cliché after another. The marvellous cast can't do anything with it. It's beyond hope. But the male characters seem to deliver a lot of the script in a theatre whisper making it hard to work out what they're saying. It's funny how in a film with a whole storyline that it hard to believe you can still get irritated by things like somebody crashing a car enough to get knocked out but the air bags still don't go off. And more, many more silly things. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/20/24 Full Review Read all reviews
