Guest User | I use a 62" Powerfin ground adjustable, recommended by Powerfin for the Rotax 447.Works great, no complaints. I originally had a Tennessee prop 60X36.Great climb prop, but my EGT's were way to high cruising with it.Harold

Posts: 1,363 Time Online: 41 days 7 hours 42 minutes | I was also looking for prop for 2702 and 447 by type its the same. There is an excellent prop manufacturer in the Ukraine, you can contact them direct. http://eng.aero.lg.ua/index.php?do=static&page=vinty Dear Peter, we can suggest you prop series L1700 cut to 1600mm 2 blades, but we mailto:aero@lep.lg.ua Hence there is no statistic, I would take the risk because they are really good. In the US its sold by Airtrikes by Vassili from Canada, very popular there. I have flown with Ivo in flight adjustable one, thats really convincing but the shape and the appearance of the prop is not my favourite. Especially if you are thinking about a good looking spinner.....

Posts: 1,363 Time Online: 41 days 7 hours 42 minutes | Curt, for us the 1600 mm two blade is the best one. You might read my findings at Thrust test topic. I will finish my gear change and instrument panel refresh with dual EGT and CHT-s than I go for the props. But its closer for me from Ukraine.Shipping in the US from here is about USD 80-100 or so by post.

Posts: 1,363 Time Online: 41 days 7 hours 42 minutes | That would be interesting if anyone could tell you. You take your prop, tie down your plane, warm up the engine and you adjust set it until you cant overrev your engine with full throttle. Set below the max rpm by 250-300 rev. If in flight you see that there is more room for you to add 1-2-3 degrees than you re adjust it.

Posts: 1,363 Time Online: 41 days 7 hours 42 minutes | I am about to order from Lugoprop from Ukraine one for my Hirth, but since my hirth is belt drive its just the opposite what you guys need. For sure they can ship to US. 400 USD os not bad price, you will get only two blades without hub from Powerfin for that price.

Posts: 1,363 Time Online: 41 days 7 hours 42 minutes | Try that in flight and if you feel you have enough runway and you are not happy with your cruising rpm(too high) set it to 6100 on ground full throttle. Youll probably will get 6300-6350 during takeoff and thats still OK.

Posts: 1,363 Time Online: 41 days 7 hours 42 minutes | For the very same reasons my Hirth 2702 revs only 5050 on the ground (max 5500) and my Simonini Victor 2 plus revs only 5800 (max 6200). Question is good engine choice for load/aircraft. And 447 or Hirth 2702 is more than enough for Mini/Himax. I am only 82 kgs (170 lb).
